Description
We are looking for a Recreation Program Coordinator!

The purpose of this classification is due to the responsibility of the candidate's continued pursuit of developing, organizing, planning,
and supervising a variety of athletic programs for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates a diversified program of sports and special events, as well as contract with associations to schedule the appropriate officials for events.
  • Organizes player and coach clinics, as well as provide training sessions. Coordinates all-star team events, including player and coach selection, hosts tournaments, and travel arrangements for out-of-town competitions.
  • Develop future programs and evaluate current programs to maintain consistency with departmental goals.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates game officials, part-time staff, and volunteers to ensure effective support and quality officiating is being provided for all recreational sports programs.
  • Coordinates with community and civic organizations to plan and promote special athletic events, including providing program information for brochures, pamphlets, and media outlets, and delivering presentations to community groups to drive public engagement.
  • Oversees equipment inventory and prepares bids for equipment purchases.
  • Prepares a variety of reports including, but not limited to; activity reports, expenditure reports, program
  • reports, and usage reports

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or closely related field.
  • In addition, one (1) year of experience as a sports coordinator or a related role; this can be substituted by any equivalent combination of
    education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this
    position.
  • Must posses and maintain a valid driver's license.
