We are looking for a Water Meter Reader!!

The purpose of this classification is to perform general/manual work functions associated with reading water meters, recording water usage data, and activating/terminating water services.

Essential Functions:

• Reads residential, commercial, and industrial water meters along an assigned route.
• Uses a handheld computer and visual reading device to collect and verify water meter data, including electronic meter readings.
• Shuts off water service as needed.
• Activates or reactivates water service for new or existing accounts.
• Inspects meters to ensure accuracy and proper operation.
• Performs routine maintenance on water meters and meter boxes.
• Repairs or replaces damaged meter boxes and lids.
• Operates and maintains a vehicle used for daily route and fieldwork.
• Accepts customer payments and forwards them to the cashier for processing; assists with the collection of delinquent accounts when required.
• Responds to customer inquiries related to water meter issues; provides assistance, notifies customers of leaks, and handles service requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
