We are looking for an Equipment Operator III!

The purpose of this classification is to operate various heavy equipment and perform manual work functions associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of the County Road systems or trash compaction, solid waste coverage, and landfill operations.

Essential Functions:

• Performs driving functions in a safe and efficient manner and operates a variety of varied purpose equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads and related systems, or dump truck, roll-off garbage truck , tandem truck, end loader truck, back hoe, track hoe, tar truck, water truck, spreader gate truck, roller, scraper, screed, excavator, motor grader, dozer, packer, mower, bucket truck, etc.
• Adheres to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals; flags and directs traffic and places markers, signs and cones around project/work site to ensure safety of crew and the traveling public; and follows safety practices and wears protective gear.
• Prepares, completes, and or receives various forms, reports, work orders, logs, accident reports, or other documents; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience in equipment operation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid commercial drivers license.
