We are looking for a Deputy Clerk II!

The purpose of this classification is to provide advanced clerical and administrative support to the Superior Court in handling sensitive legal information. This position assists in managing courtroom operations and legal proceedings by accurately recording, filing, and maintaining official records of court activities. 

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the public, attorneys, and court personnel in person, by phone and through electronic communications. Explain court procedures, case status, required documentation, fees, and filing requirements. Assist with problem resolution.
• Process criminal filings into various case management and software programs.
• Process appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
• Record, stamp,and file court orders, court transcripts, or other legal documentation; sign and seal subpoenas. 
• Generate notices for arraignment and calendar calls.
• Process warrants and orders from Probation Services.
• Process orders issued by the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
• Receipt monies received in payment for copies, and other departmental fees/services; records transactions.
• Package files of closed cases and forwards to records retention center; requests records from retention center as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a Deputy Clerk position, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
