JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this classification is to provide confidential administrative, clerical, and legal support to an assigned judge by coordinating court schedules, preparing legal documents, maintaining case records, and ensuring the efficient daily operation of the judge's office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year as a legal secretary, paralegal or related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

JOB SUMMARY:

- Coordinates and schedules civil, criminal, and other court proceedings; prepares and distributes court calendars and notifies attorneys, litigants, and other parties of scheduled hearings.
- Prepares court orders, legal documents, correspondence, and other materials for the judge's review and signature, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court procedures.
- Provides confidential administrative and clerical support to the assigned judge, including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating daily office activities.
- Reviews, proofreads, and formats legal documents, reports, pleadings, and correspondence for accuracy, completeness, and proper legal formatting.
- Maintains and organizes confidential case files, court records, and legal documents in accordance with established record retention policies and court procedures.
- Responds to telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries; provides procedural information, relays messages, and directs requests to appropriate personnel while maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepares, processes, files, and distributes legal correspondence, notices, subpoenas, and other court-related documents in a timely manner.
- Operates court case management systems and standard office software to maintain records, retrieve information, and support the efficient operation of the judge's office.
