We are looking for a Water Crew Leader I!

The purpose of this classification is to supervise assigned work crews, operate heavy equipment, as well as perform manual work functions associated with the installation, repair, and maintenance of Floyd County water systems and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and guides assigned work crews.
• Organizes crew workloads, assigns work tasks, completes and monitors work projects, inspects completed work projects.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs water systems and utilities.
• Performs both general and preventive maintenance, properly inspects equipment, washes and cleans equipment, monitors equipment operations  to maintain their efficiency and safety, reports faulty equipment.
• Locates water leaks and repairs pipe leaks, clears blocked pipes, cuts and installs pipe, digs holes or trenches, turns water mains on/off; installs/replaces and reads water meters, loads and unloads trucks. 
• Maintains inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment for use at work sites.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience in water utility construction and maintenance. Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
