Description
We are looking for a Tag Office Coordinator.    

The purpose of this classification is to perform supervisory and administrative work associated with processing documentation associated with County taxes, tags, and titles', collecting taxes and fees', and providing customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processes employee concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates the processing of documentation associated with County taxes, tags, titles, and the collection of taxes and fees and the provision of customer service in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Interprets and applies State and local laws pertaining to department activities; ensures departmental compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; reviews and circulates information; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
  • Develops and implements guidelines, standards, policies, procedures, and internal controls for division; establishes goals and objectives; maintains existing policies and procedures; develops and maintains specifications and documents to automate department functions; develops and maintains office procedures.
  • Develops and maintains record-keeping system for accounts, monies received and expended, and source of revenue; forwards records to appropriate personnel; distributes funds to taxing agencies as directed.
  • Acts as a liaison between the department, other County departments, and the general public; provides technical and legal insight interpretation and advice regarding the Tax Commissioner's responsibilities.
  • Oversees and maintains tag and title computer system; troubleshoots system problems; coordinates with the State when major repairs are required.
  • Maintains inventory of all license plates and decals; secures tags, decals, and I-plates in safe area; coordinates with state auditors on inventory of tags, decals, I-plates, tops, and special tags.
  • Operates a personal computer, and general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping, clerical work, or a related field.  
  • Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
