We are looking for a Counselor II!
The purpose of this classification is to work under the supervision of the Chief Counselor in planning, developing, implementing, and administering appropriate services and counseling programs for offenders. Serves as alternate Chairperson of the Classification Committee in the absence of the Chief Counselor and Deputy Warden.

Responsibilities
- Supervises assigned counseling staff in the delivery of services and assists completion of all documentation.
- Ensures assigned staff understand performance standards associated with their current job assignments; identify and manage counseling staff training needs and ensure staff attend and complete all training requirements.
- Assists in the training of counseling staff to perform their job duties; assist in the training of staff when new policies are published or policies are revised.
- Monitors assigned staffs’ work performance and make quarterly recommendations to supervisor.
- Serves as the Grievance Investigator; serves as the focusing impact on re-entry (FIRE) counselor and as the Work Release liaison with Offender Administration; document individual counseling caseload sessions in accordance with policies and procedures. Monitors the utilization of counseling staff implementation of the data assessment plan format.
- Manages and posts the monthly/or quarterly master schedule for the facility; provide guidance and supervision in order to modify offenders' behaviors and attitudes and reduce negative behaviors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services,
- Or an equivalent field and minimum of (2) two years of related experience in the provision of individual and/or group counseling a caseload of clients; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
