Description
We are looking for a Division Manager!
The purpose of this classification is to perform supervisory work functions associated with planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance and repair of parks and facilities for the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Department.

The purpose of this classification is to perform supervisory work functions associated with planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance and repair of parks and facilities for the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Department.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals; interviews job applicants and makes hiring recommendations.
- Supervises and monitors a work crew of offenders assigned to building/grounds construction and maintenance projects; monitors offender activities to ensure security; instructs offenders on proper work techniques.
- Plans, organizes, and directs operations and activities, to include project coordination and parks and facilities maintenance.
- Inspects parks and facilities; determines maintenance needs; develops maintenance schedules; ensures that parks and facilities meet requirements of all applicable codes, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Organizes and prioritizes division workload; makes work assignments; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work; ensures appropriate staffing levels to complete work projects; coordinates offender labor.
- Develops and administers division budget; monitors expenditures for fiscal compliance.
- Supervises labor/repair functions such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction/remodeling work, and routine/preventive maintenance tasks.
- Drives the offender bus to transport offenders to specific work locations.
- Vocational or technical diploma in building trades.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in building and grounds maintenance, equipment operation, or a related field.
- Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid commercial drivers license.
- Must possess and maintain valid Correctional Officer Certification.
