We are looking for a Work Release Coordinator!

The purpose of this classification is to perform security and general work functions associated with providing counseling, training, supervision, employment coordination, and relations between the WRC and prospective employers who are receptive to employing residents assigned to a community corrections program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Represents the Work Release Center to local employees. Serves as the Primary Resident Employer Coordinator for the Work Release Center and residents assigned to the Work Release Center. 
• Counsels, trains, supervises, and prepares assigned offenders for the regional work force. 
• Maintains positive and open employer relationships, while matching the needs of the prospective employers to the pool of housed residents. 
• Supervision of assigned staff, conduct work ready training on a daily basis, administering random drug screens, conduct training of Work Release Center employees and residents, conducting intake of all new residents, conducting new employee and resident orientation, supervise and implement procedures concerning rehabilitation programs for residents, ensure policy and procedure protocols are met.
• Works on various shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Supplemented by five years experience as a Correctional Officer, one of which must be in a Supervisory/Management capacity in a community corrections setting.
• Six (6) months of trainer experience in occupational safety and health field.
• Must be Correctional Officer certified or able to complete Basic Correctional Training within one (1) year of start date.
