Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic!
The purpose of this classification is to oversees daily operations of the tire shop, performs on-site service calls, and conducts maintenance and repairs on small engines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The purpose of this classification is to oversees daily operations of the tire shop, performs on-site service calls, and conducts maintenance and repairs on small engines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform tire inspections, mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairs for various vehicle types.
- Identify tire wear issues and recommend appropriate maintenance or replacements.
- Use tire machines, balancers, torque wrenches, and other shop tools safely and correctly.
- Respond to roadside service calls promptly and diagnose tire-related issues on-site.
- Repair or replace tires, valve stems, and related components during road calls.
- Maintain a well-stocked, organized service truck with necessary tools and parts.
- Diagnose and repair small engines such as lawn mowers, generators, and pressure washers.
- Perform routine small engine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups.
- Troubleshoot engine performance issues related to ignition, fuel, or exhaust systems.
- Keep accurate records of parts used, repairs completed, and service performed.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on equipment and vehicles.
- Identify potential mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good, safe working condition.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow shop safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with inventory control by monitoring and restocking tools and supplies as needed.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Properly dispose of used tires, oil, and hazardous materials according to regulations.
- Requires High School graduation or equivalent and
- Two years of mechanical, equipment repair or similar experience
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
