Description
We are looking for an Assistant Section Supervisor!
The Assistant Section Supervisor performs supervisory and technical work associated with planning, organizing, and overseeing projects related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of county roads, bridges, and related public works operations. This position assists in ensuring that all assigned projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with county standards and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in construction/maintenance of roads, bridges and/ or systems, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver's license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, including processing employee concerns, addressing problems, directing daily work, providing counseling or discipline as needed, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Assists in hiring new personnel and helps develop and maintain work schedules, project timelines, and task assignments.
- Coordinates and ensures the availability of necessary equipment, tools, and materials for assigned projects.
- Monitors job sites for safety compliance and ensures adherence to county and regulatory safety standards.
- Oversees work progress, conducts inspections of work in progress and upon completion, and ensures quality control of all assigned tasks.
- Assists in planning, organizing, and supervising construction, repair, and maintenance projects involving county roads, bridges, landfill operations, recycling centers, maintenance shops, landscape and grounds maintenance, sign fabrication, and related county functions.
- Operates motor vehicles, hand tools, maintenance equipment, and heavy machinery as required.
