Description
We are looking Administrative Assistant V for our Cooperative Extension!

The position is within UGA Cooperative Extension. It's primarily responsible is to deliver 4-H programming to local youth. This individual collaborates closely with all Extension faculty and staff as appropriate. Administrative oversight is provided by the 4-H Agent, County Extension Coordinator, and the District Extension Director. The position encompasses a blend of office-based responsibilities and fieldwork, requiring versatility and effective communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support 4-H members in preparing for competitive events, including project achievements, judging teams, and other activities.
  • Arrange transportation or personally transport 4-H participants to district and state-level events, providing leadership and supervision for youth during these activities as assigned.
  • Assume leadership for specific program areas as directed by the District Extension Director, County Extension Coordinator or County 4-H Agent.
  • Complete 4-H reporting requirements of county, district and state.
  • Ensure all duties align within the mission The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension program Equal Opportunity plan, providing equitable access to educational programs, assistance, and materials.
  • Conduct in-school 4-H club meetings and deliver pre-approved curricula that comply with Georgia Professional Standards guidelines.
  • Actively recruit youth to participate in 4-H educational programs.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and coordinate programs effectively, ensuring smooth operations and impactful delivery.
  • Identify, recruit, train, engage, and recognize volunteers to support the planning, teaching, and evaluation of Extension 4-H programs. Assist volunteers in completing the required 4-H Chaperone Training to ensure their successful involvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
