Description
We are looking for a Recycling Technician, Corrections!
This position is responsible for performing security and manual labor tasks related to the operation of the Recycling Center, while also supervising and ensuring the safety and security of offenders assigned to work detail at the facility.

This position is responsible for performing security and manual labor tasks related to the operation of the Recycling Center, while also supervising and ensuring the safety and security of offenders assigned to work detail at the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and monitors offenders assigned to recycling center work details, ensuring compliance with operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Enforces institutional policies and regulations; assists in managing and de-escalating disruptive or non-compliant behavior when necessary.
- Conducts routine headcounts and performs thorough searches of individuals, facilities, vehicles, and work areas to detect and eliminate contraband or unauthorized materials.
- Provides instruction and guidance to offenders on proper recycling procedures, equipment use, and safe work practices.
- Oversees the progress and quality of assigned tasks; inspects completed work to ensure it meets operational standards; coordinates the return of offenders to the correctional facility upon completion of work.
- Assesses the safety and security of the recycling site and work environment; continually monitors for potential hazards to maintain a secure and compliant work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required,
- Along with two (2) years of experience in recycling operations, manufacturing, or a related field;
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Must obtain a Basic Corrections Officer Training (BCOT) certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Must possess, or obtain and maintain within six (6) months of hire, a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement.
