Description
We are looking for Deputy Sheriffs!
The purpose of this classification is to perform general law enforcement functions associated with serving legal processes of courts, providing courtroom services and jail support, maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, preventing or observing criminal acts and traffic violations, performing preliminary investigations, responding to emergency calls, and enforcing criminal and traffic laws and federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
Responsibilities
High School Diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year of law enforcement experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver's license, be at least 21 years of age, no state or federal convictions punishable by imprisonment in federal or state prisons, have no misdemeanor convictions sufficient to establish a pattern of disregard for the law, and have no convictions of Family Violence Crimes. Must possess and maintain current P.O.S.T. Basic Peace Officer Certification.

Responsibilities
- Enforces all local and state codes, ordinances, laws and regulations, both traffic and criminal, in order to protect life and property, to promote security, and to maintain law and order.
- Conducts investigations to determine location/locate individuals named in criminal and civil papers.
- Serves felony and misdemeanor warrants and civil papers.
- Provides courtroom security.
- Conducts security checks of courthouse offices, judges' chambers, parking lots, or other areas of courthouse.
