We are looking for a Records Clerk at the Police Department!
The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical work functions associated with processing/maintaining information and responding to requests for information related to the County Police Department.

The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical work functions associated with processing/maintaining information and responding to requests for information related to the County Police Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates national and state law enforcement computer systems to identify, retrieve, and/or update criminal information; obtains/provides information as requested; initiates/retrieves computerized messages to and from state and national agencies.
- Processes a variety of documentation; distributes or maintains records as appropriate.
- Performs data entry functions by keying data into computer system; retrieves, reviews, and/or modifies data in computer database; verifies accuracy of data and makes corrections; generates computerized reports.
- Receives, opens, and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail.
- Prepares departmental files; sorts/organizes documents to be filed.
- Receives monies in payment of departmental fees or services; records transactions, issues receipts and forwards revenues as appropriate.
- Responds to non-emergency radio dispatch requests; contacts/dispatches appropriate services.
- Answers the telephone; provides information and assistance.
- Uses knowledge of word processing, criminal information network, and other software programs to operate a computer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months experience in clerical/general office work or a related field.
- Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Georgia Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center Certification.
